Who we are

We’re gear.tent — a small, majority female-owned Canadian startup born out of a simple idea: great outdoor gear shouldn’t sit lonely in garages or end up in landfills. It started as Life Outside Gear Exchange in Saskatoon, when our founders needed quality gear for their kids and got tired of the chaos of Facebook Marketplace. People kept asking us to bring the swap to their city — so now we’re connecting campers, hikers, and outdoor lovers coast to coast, both online through our app and in person at swaps like this one. Think Poshmark, but for Patagonia — and proudly Canadian.

📅 When

• Drop off your gear (Sellers): Thurs Oct 8 & Fri Oct 9, 9am–7pm

• Come shop (Buyers): Sat Oct 10, 9am–7pm & Sun Oct 11, 9am–5pm

🎟️ Tickets: Just $5 to buy or sell — kids get in free. 10% of every ticket goes straight to the local food bank, so coming out does double duty for your community.

🛍️ What you’ll find

Clean, quality, gently-loved gear from the brands campers trust — Patagonia, Arc’teryx, Salomon, Osprey, MEC, Lululemon, and more. Hiking boots, backpacks, down jackets, rain gear, base layers, winter accessories, kids’ gear, and the occasional funky vintage piece.

⚙️ How it works

• Selling? Download the gear.tent app, list your items, drop them off Thurs or Fri with your username and price, then watch them sell. Money lands directly in your account.

• Buying? Come touch, try on, and see the gear up close — something you just can’t do shopping online. Buy on the spot through the app and take it home the same day.

Gear that doesn't move at this swap? Pick it up after 4pm Sunday, or leave it listed on the app and we’ll keep working to sell it for you.

Why an in-person swap when we’re an app? Because gear shopping should feel human. You get to see, touch, and try before you buy, save on shipping, and meet your local outdoor community face to face.

Shipping within Canada and the USA can be processed quick and easy through the checkout!

For shipping outside of Canada and the USA, please fill out the question form below or email gear@lifeoutsidegx.com and we can set it all up for you!

Some important notes about shipping:

• Due to the nature of consignment and having an ever changing inventory, we use flat shipping rates for Canada and the USA that depends on region.
• Some items (bikes, kayaks, etc.) are unable to be shipped. Additionally, large/bulky items and/or orders to rural items may be charged additionally shipping. In either of these cases, you will be contacted before the order is processed.
